Project Management Skills for Life

Project Management Skills for Life

 Completed Project

supported by:

Project Management Skills for Life is a European project supported by the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF), an organization of the Project Management Institute (PMI), through which young people participating in Junior Achievement (JA) educational programs have the opportunity to practice and acquire the project management skills and knowledge necessary to develop their own projects. Young people discover their potential and have the opportunity to integrate project management skills to achieve success in both their professional and personal lives. The project also encourages the professional development of Junior Achievement network staff in project management through their participation in training courses and coaching sessions

As part of the project, a digital project management module was developed as a supplementary resource for the JA Antreprenor Junior entrepreneurship program. The module enables young people to identify and explore the most sought-after processes, skills, and concepts in project management.

As a result, young people:

  • learn the fundamentals of project management;
  • acquire the skills needed to start their own business;
  • immediately apply their project management skills to the microenterprises they launch as part of the JA entrepreneurship education program;
  • demonstrate the development of key skills such as collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, decision-making, leadership, and problem-solving;
  • recognize and apply project management knowledge in other contexts: academic, career guidance, and community service.

In the initial phase, the project is being carried out in 12 countries within the JA network (Albania, Bulgaria, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Romania, Russia, and Sweden) and is coordinated by JA Europe. By the end of the implementation, 21 JA organizations across Europe will be involved in the project.
